To be inspired is to allow yourself to be inspired. There is a truth to the notion that if you’re negative about yourself or what you do, it might cast you out into a still lake on a single canoe with no visible surroundings. It’s a lonely thing, not to be inspired.
We blame it on the changing of the times and the way of the world, but generations before us did the exact same thing and they were able to manifest plenty of inspiration from all sorts of individuals.
When in doubt, look to something simple.
Lift up a rock in the front yard and find a puddle that avoids the sunlight and evaporation.
Look to your friend, the one who is married with kids and a full time job who still finds time to pursue the things of his wildest dreams.
And most importantly, look to yourself.
