This book is a complete gem.
Some reading enthusiasts might find it on the ‘best of’ type lists out there, but I’d heard some acclaimed feedback about this one intermittently over the years.
It’s about an American freelance writer who reaches out to a quaint bookstore owner on 84 Charing Cross Road for a certain book.
And then another book.
She continues the correspondence with the owner in London for over 20 years.
They get acquainted as pen pals and form a bookworm relationship over letter correspondence. She learns about his wife and family, and he about her life in New York.
It’s such a heartwarming, charming little glimpse at two people who’s worlds collided in the most pleasant of ways.
